Reuters offers free course on reporting poverty |

Journalists in Africa interested in more accurate reporting of poverty issues can apply to attend a two-day course in Cape Town.
Organized by the Thompson Reuters Foundation in conjunction with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the course will focus on the journalistic skills needed to cover the rural world and bring rural poverty issues into urban households. |

Outrage as Botswana Bushmen denied water rights |

 A Botswana judge has ruled that Bushmen who returned to their lands in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve are not allowed to drill wells for water. The decision condemns them to having to walk up to 380 km to fetch water in one of the driest places on earth.
